The History of Bag of Smoke

Larry's Bag of Smoke was founded in 1986 by Native
Texan, Larry Sylvester.  Having been born and raised in
the Texas Hill Country and growing up on traditional
Texas BBQ,  Larry has perfected the art of achieving
true smoked flavor with ease and convenience.

Gathered around the pool one day everyone was hungry
and wanted to grill steaks, but didn't want to wait the
usual hour to soak the wood chips.  Larry thought there
had to be an easier way to get that same authentic
smoked flavor.  Larry chopped up mesquite chunks into
small fine pieces and wrapped them in a piece of cotton
T-shirt.  Hence, Larry's Bag of Smoke was born, and
has evolved into the bag we use today.

Today Bag of Smoke is handmade in Katy, Texas.  All
of our Texas woods come from South Central Texas.

We have recently added two new products for those
who prefer traditional smoking,  Smokin' Sticks  and
Smokin' Chips.  We are also supplying  commercial
accounts with Pecan dust for use in auto feed smokers.

We are proud members of the Texas Department of
Agriculture, GO TEXAN.  GO TEXAN members
products are made in Texas and  proudly display the
GO TEXAN logo.  Our products are sold in the GO
TEXAN General Store and Mercantile in the Food and
Fiber Pavilion at the Texas State Fair in Dallas.  We
have made many friends over the years, when we
demonstrate our products there.
